Montevertine 2017 75 cl Montevertine
The Montevertine's Le Pergole Torte is an aristocratic Tuscan Sangiovese, aged 24 months in barriques and oak barrels. A wonderful red with aromas of red fruits, spices, coffee and cocoa with a full and complex taste with a magnificently long finish.
The Pergole Torte from the Montevertine winery is one of the symbols of Tuscan oenological excellence, a noble and refined red wine.
Made up of 100% Sangiovese grapes, its vines are located in the heart of Chianti, more precisely in Radda, the place where these grapes found the perfect habitat to express themselves in their sublimity.
The Harvest of Le Pergole Torte 2017 was rather poor (about 40% less harvest) but with an excellent ripening of the grapes which allowed him to create a slightly different wine from the previous ones, always exceptional, with a more intense color and thicker.
The meticulous selection of the bunches begins at the end of September, and then passes to 20 days of alcoholic fermentation in cement tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation and finally the refinement that takes place for 12 months in barriques and a further 12 months in barrels of Slavonian oak.
The result is a "Le Pergole Torte" with an intense ruby red color, precious and sparkling like a precious stone. Its aromas are elegant and complex, with notes of red fruits, aromatic spices, coffee and mineral hints. A Montevertine with a deep taste, soft in the mouth, balanced and with a persistent finish. Magnificent and rewarding.
