Arcione Rosso Trevenezie IGP 2016 75 cl La Tunella
A full-bodied and balanced red wine, the Arco della Tunella was born in Friuli, from native vineyards of Pignolo and Schioppettino. The aromas are fruity with cherry, black currant, balsamic wood, leather and licorice, with a soft, balanced and decisive taste.
Arcione is a full-bodied and structured red wine from the renowned Tunella winery, located on the hills of Eastern Friuli.
The vines used to make up this prestigious Arcione are the autochthonous Pignolo and Schioppettino, rooted in soils composed of marls and sandstones of Eocene origin, rich in calcium carbonate and minerals.
The harvest takes place manually during the first weeks of October, immediately after the harvested grapes are left to dry in special boxes, thus obtaining a high concentration of the extracts and varietal aromatic substances. The grapes, separated by variety, are then crushed and fermented with maceration on the skins at controlled temperatures, completing its fermentation in 5 hl French oak tonneaux where it remains for about four years during which it will undergo all the fermentative - evolutionary processes to guarantee a noble red color.
The Arcione completes its refinement in the bottle, at the end of the 4 years after the harvest, to then be marketed.
In the glass it has a bright and intense ruby red color enriched with garnet reflections.
The meeting of grapes from vineyards of different ages gives the nose and taste an elegant robustness. At first glance it is immediately imposing, fine and intense, fruity and spicy, with hints of black currant, cherry, balsamic wood, leather and licorice, enriched on the finish by smoky olfactory notes. In the mouth it is round, of considerable thickness, with tannins that give it a decisive, soft and balanced character. The finish is very long and full of flavor, all to be enjoyed for a wine with an excellent quality / price ratio.
