Paleo Rosso 2016 75 cl Le Macchiole
Paleo Rosso Le Macchiole, is a Tuscan red wine, Cabernet Franc, the main expressive symbol of Bolgheri. Aged for 19 months in new barriques, it is characterized by a rich structure and body, perfect to drink with meat dishes.
The Paleo Rosso of the Le Macchiole company is a red wine produced from vineyards located on the coast of Bolgheri, in Tuscany.
Born in 1989 as a classic Bordeaux cut, it was then transformed in 2001 into a 100% Cabernet Franc, difficult to produce and even more so in purity.
Paleo Rosso is today one of the symbols of Bolgheri despite its absolute diversity and originality and is one of the most famous Cabernet Francs in the world.
The name "Paleo" derives from the common name for Festuca Pratensis (from the Graminaceae family), a herb that grows spontaneously on the Tuscan coast, a symbol of stubbornness and territorial identity.
2016 was a prodigious vintage from a climatic point of view that helped the vines to ripen perfectly.
The harvest began during the fourth week of September. The fermentation took place in concrete tanks for a duration of 30 days and then moved on to refinement in new barriques for the following 19 months before being bottled.
The color of Paleo Rosso is shown in its intense ruby red. The olfactory scent reveals fragrant notes of berries and spicy aromas of herbs, licorice and coffee. In the mouth it is rich, full-bodied, important and structured; perfect to combine with meat dishes and aged cheeses.
