The Barolo Colonnello by Poderi Aldo Conterno is an intense and full-bodied wine, with a strong evolutionary potential. A Piedmontese red made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes in the Michet and Lampia varieties.

The name "Colonel" derives from the name of the vineyard, called "Vigna Colonnello in Bussia", with an average age of 40-45 years, for the maintenance of which the plants are replanted from time to time.

The harvest is done manually in mid-October, with the selection of the grapes within the vineyard. After the grapes are transferred to the cellar, the vinification begins with maceration on the skins in stainless steel tanks, where the must remains for 30 days, during which the alcoholic fermentation takes place completely.

The new wine is decanted several times before being placed in oak barrels where it ages and refines for 28 months.

This award-winning Barolo Colonnello reveals itself with its garnet color, intense aromas of cherry and red fruit, spices and licorice, aromas that are expressed in a clear and immediate way and are combined with balsamic and woody notes of sweet spices.
