Sommarovina is a red wine from the Mamete Prevostini company, a very elegant Nebbiolo able to keep very well over time.
This Valtellina Superiore Sassella is born from Nebbiolo grapes produced in the terraced vineyards of the Rhaetian Alps facing south, at about 400 meters above the sea level, on earth soils composed mainly of flaking rock and located in the town of Triasso, in the heart of the Sassella area. DOCG.
After the harvest in mid-October, and a delicate destemming, the lightly pressed Nebbiolo grapes are sent to the stainless steel tanks where the alcoholic fermentation takes place with 15 days of maceration of the skins on the must at a temperature of 25 ° C. After pressing, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in oak barrels where the refinement continues for about 10 months. Finally, the wine is aged in the bottle for another 10 months before being marketed.
Sassella Sommarovina from Mamete Prevostini has an intense ruby red color tending towards garnet. The scent is fresh with hints of red fruits, hibiscus and rose supported by an intense balsamic and spicy sensation. In the mouth it is warm, persistent and elegant with a pleasant finish of licorice and almond, confirming it as a wine of character, austere and compact.
