Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2016 75 cl Poggio di Sotto
Poggio di SottoPoggio di Sotto's Brunello di Montalcino is a majestic wine, one of the best expressions of Sangiovese. Distinguished by unique complexity and elegance, it requires a few years of refinement to reach its qualitative apex but gives emotions even if drunk in youth. The nose opens with a broad bouquet, ranging from notes of red fruits and orange to spicy and toasted hints. On the palate it fills the mouth with warmth and power while remaining fine and balanced, thanks to a silky and velvety tannin that makes it a unique wine.
Brunello di Montalcino from the Poggio di Sotto company is the excellent fruit of the best Sangiovese grapes that are selected and processed to achieve this amazing Brunello.
The production area is that of Castelnuovo dell'Abate, where the vines come from vineyards at 200, 300 and 450 meters above sea level. The soil is very poor and rocky, primarily composed of sedimentary rock.
Harvesting is done by hand in mid-September. Fermentation occurs spontaneously in wooden vats and then aged for 42 months in 30 hl Slovenian oak barrels.
A wine that, despite its aromatic consistency, is fresh and delicate. Excellent to combine with a Florentine steak, fillet, dishes with truffles or morel
With a strong evolutionary potential, we recommend tasting it after having decanted it or to be forgotten a little longer in the cellar.
