Turriga Isola dei Nuraghi IGT Argiolas, is an elegant and precious red wine, complete expression of the Sardinian territory and the Mediterranean climate, obtained from ancient Cannonau vines and other native vines that mature for 24 months in French oak barrels. Its aromas range from wild berries to aromatic herbs to finish with hints of tobacco and coffee, a structured, full and persistent taste.
Turriga Argiolas is a grandiose red wine, the perfect synthesis of the Nuraghi territory enclosed in a bottle.
Icon among the Italian wines and prestigious wine of the Argiolas company, the Turriga stands out for its elegance, richness, class and balance that have made it a strong symbol of Sardinia thanks also to the care and attention for traditions and expert touch of Giacomo Tachis, a well-known winemaker who has created some of the best Italian wines.
Turriga is produced with only native grapes, with the prevalence of Cannonau, Carignano, Bovale and black Malvasia are blended.
Its ancient vines grow on moderately calcareous soils, located about 230 meters above the sea level, where the mild Mediterranean climate favors the conditions for growing grapes.
The harvest begins towards the end of November. The harvested grapes are carefully selected before proceeding to fermentation and let the juice remain to macerate on its skins for 16-18 months, aging takes place in new French oak barrels for 18-24 months and finally, refinement it ends in the bottle after a further 12-14 months.
Turriga Argiolas is undoubtedly a majestic red, which in the glass reveals its intense ruby red and on the nose releases a seductive bouquet, complex and balanced at the same time, giving evolutionary hints of berries, jam and Mediterranean aromatic herbs, to end with toasted notes of cocoa and coffee beans.
The taste reveals itself at the height of its fame, through the rich, full-bodied, well-structured, elegant sip and a fine and persistent finish. A satisfying and high-class wine.
