Its history dates back to 1924 when the first example of Monfortino was put on the market, born from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, grown in Monforte d'Alba, from which its name derives.
The harvest of the Monfortino Riserva is taken care of down to the smallest detail starting from the selection of the best Nebbiolo grapes coming exclusively from the Francia Vineyard of Serralunga d'Alba. After sorting, the bunches are fermented in oak vats with a long maceration using the traditional submerged cap technique. Subsequently the malolactic fermentation takes place and finally the wine remains to refine in large wooden barrels for 6 years before bottling.
In the glass, the Barolo Monfortino Riserva reveals its deep and brilliant garnet color, the aromas are enriched with floral hints of violet and rose, aromas of spices, licorice and cocoa. In the mouth it is concentrated, complex and balanced, with ripe tannins and a long and persistent finish that leaves time to enjoy all its nuances.
