Alzero Cabernet IGT 2009 lt 1.5 QuintarelliQuintarelli
Alzero Giuseppe Quintarelli is an extraordinary wine, made with a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot.
The harvest begins at the end of August with the Cabernet Franc and ends with the Cabernet Sauvignon 10 days later, with a yield of about 40 quintals per hectare.
The carefully selected grapes are taken to the drying room and immediately set aside in wooden boxes and on racks. Thanks to the still hot period in September, the grapes dry perfectly and quickly with an optimal result. The grapes are dried according to the tradition of Amarone and Recioto.
At the end of December the grapes are pressed and then undergo a slow maceration and alcoholic fermentation on indigenous yeasts which lasts about 70 days.
The refinement of Quintarelli's Alzero lasts 36 months in French oak barriques (Limousin, Allier, Tronçais). For the next 4 years it is combined in a single mass in a medium-sized Slavonian oak barrel.
Alzero Quintarelli Giuseppe is a wine with an impenetrable, intense red, a very spicy wine, of extreme complexity, which releases hints of dry fruit with hints of cocoa and vanilla.
Powerful on the palate, with a long persistence, and an explosion of jam and very ripe fruit flavor.
