Le Pergole Torte di Montevertine, is an aristocratic Tuscan Sangiovese, represents one of the best expressions of this vine. Aged 24 months in barriques and oak barrels. A wonderful, extremely long-lived red, with aromas of red fruits, spices, coffee and cocoa with a full and complex taste with a magnificently long finish.


Le Pergole Torte from the Montevertine winery is one of the symbols of Tuscan winemaking excellence, a noble and refined red wine.

2018 is a special and significant vintage for Montevertine. In fact, it is the centenary of the birth of the creator Sergio Manetti.

Composed of 100% Sangiovese grapes, its vines are located in the heart of Chianti, more precisely in Radda, the place where these grapes have found the perfect habitat to express themselves in their sublimity.

The 2018 vintage was hot, but not too hot, with a rainy August and a sunny September. The harvest began on 3 October until 15 October in a cool climate.

The meticulous selection of the bunches begins at the end of September, and then passes to 20 days of alcoholic fermentation in concrete tanks, followed by the malolactic fermentation concluded at the end of January and finally the refinement that takes place for 12 months in barriques and a further 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels.

The result is a "Le Pergole Torte" with an intense ruby ​​red color, precious and sparkling like a precious stone. Its aromas are elegant and complex, with notes of red fruits, aromatic spices, coffee and mineral hints. A Pergole Torte with a classic Chianti taste, rich in acidity and flavor, but at the same time very deep and balanced. Definitely suitable for a long conservation and to be enjoyed in the midst of its evolution in a few years.
