Champagne is no longer an area of only sparkling wines but still wines are also spreading. Louis Roederer created the line, Hommage a Camille, where he offers a firm version of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. “Volibarts” is a 100% Chardonnay from Mesnil sur Oger, it is a wine of enormous pleasure that will delight your palate.

Hommage a Camille Volibarts Louis Roederer is a pure, mineral, energetic white wine, a 100% Chardonnay that pays homage to an important woman for the Maison Louis Roederer.

Camille was at the helm of the Maison from 1932 to 1975, a period that determined all the stages in the century.

Her husband Léon bought for her a collection of her crus after the phylloxera crisis, in the most beautiful places in Champagne. These splendid plots of Aÿ, Avize, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ or Cumières are the Maison's treasures, the foundations of its unique style.

Sensitive to the daring spirit of his great-grandmother, Frédéric Rouzaud decided to pay tribute to her through a collection of single-vineyard wines from Champagne, thus perpetuating the creative spirit of her house.

The Chardonnay vines used to create "Camille Volibarts" are located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Volibarts. After a spontaneous fermentation, a 15-month rest on the lees begins in stoneware vats (35%), stainless steel barriques (44%) and French oak barriques (21%).

Hommage a Camille Volibarts Louis Roederer has a yellow color with bright reflections. The nose reveals notes of flowers, white fruits, harvest and toasted almonds. After a few minutes the bouquet is enriched and reveals shades of white truffle.

On the palate it is chalky, sapid, of great purity and freshness; initially sweet and ripe, it develops enriching and giving a very long, savory, vegetal finish reminiscent of ginger.
