Cuvée Cristal 2015 Louis Roederer, we find this vintage very different from the previous ones.
Only the grapes of 45 best parcels located in 7 locations with vines older than 20 years were used to create this precious Cristal 2015 champagne. 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from Verzenay, Verzy, Beaumont-sur-Vesle, Ay, Avize, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Cramant.
The most relevant curiosity is that since 2002, 2015 is the only vintage that contains the grapes of all 45 parcels from which Cristal draws.
This vintage was splendid for Cristal, fertile, rich and full of sunshine! A perfect balance between maturity and freshness.
Cristal is vinified for 25% in wood and malolactic fermentation is not carried out to preserve the purity of the fruit. It spends 6 years of maturation on the lees and, after the dégorgement, it rests in the cellar for another 6-12 months. The dosage is 7 g/l.
The 2015 vintage for Cristal gave mature and structured wines. Its chalky character in perfect symbiosis between maturity and freshness. A vintage that gave a unique wine, with pure fruit, superior elegance and extreme sophistication.
The Cristal 2015 Louis Roederer is a champagne ready to drink right away, but as we know and we are advised by the Roederer maison, this is a wine that in its continuous evolution will be able to give us great new emotions for each year that it ages.
