Kerner Praepositus 2018 75 cl Abbazia di Novacella
Abbazia di NovacellaKerner Praepositus is an elegant, fresh and easy to drink white wine, made from 100% Kerner grapes, it is rich in fruity and aromatic aromas of ginger, elderflower and yellow-fleshed fruit. A versatile wine that goes well with fish dishes, goose liver with apricots and roasted duck with orange sauce.
The Kerner of the Praepositus line is a prestigious, aromatic and fruity wine that is produced in South Tyrol, in Novacella, at the Abbazia di Novacella.
The ecclesiastical term Praepositus was attached to the hierarchically "superior" monks within the convent, which in the oenological context was used to indicate the superiority of this circle of wines from the Abbazia di Novacella.
The Kerner Praepositus is produced from grapes of the autochthonous Kerner variety that grow in Novacella and Rasa, on soils rich in moraine and mineral deposits which, with the cool climate and a south-south-west exposure, favor the optimal ripening of the grapes.
Fermentation and maturation take place in stainless steel tanks in which they remain for 6 months, after which the wine is bottled to complete its aging for a further month, putting it on the market with a potential for further maturation of 6 years.
This splendid Kerner Praepositus shows itself with its elegant pale yellow with greenish reflections, revealing a particularly fruity bouquet with notes of ripe peach, dried apricot, orange peel, ginger and elderflower. In the mouth it is juicy and powerful, without losing the delicate sweet and fruity notes that accompany the final.
