Pira is a vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba, monopole of Roagna since 1989.
The oldest Nebbiolo vines, aged between 25 and 50 years, are used to produce this Barolo Pira Roagna.
Fermentation occurs spontaneously in wooden vats, followed by a long submerged cap maceration and then a 5-year refinement in oak barrels.
The nose reveals first notes of plum and dried violet, followed by balsamic and mineral hints. On the palate, Barolo Pira Roagna maintains finesse and elegance despite an initially rough tannin, which however integrates with the fresh and savory part for a harmonious and persistent sip.
