The Pommery champagne house has chosen to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the production of the first "Brut" in the history of Champagne.
Pommery then reinvented the 1874 brut in a limited edition paying homage to Madame Pommery. An important date, which changed the history of this wine.
The Chefs de Cave of the Maison Pommery are Olivier Damas and Victor Lambert, who worked to create this glorious Pommery "Blanc de Blancs 150th Anniversary" Champagne.
A blanc de blancs produced with only Chardonnay grapes from 10 grand cru vineyards, on 4 prestigious terroirs: Côte des Blancs (Chouilly, Cramant, Avize, Oger), Grande Valle de Marne (Dizy), Montagne de Reims (Trépail, Villers- Marmery, Verzy, Verzenay), Les Clos Pompadour (Reims).
The dosage is 5g/L, with 6 years of aging on the yeasts and a small addition of 24% vin de reserve from the villages of Cramant and Avize, which sharpen the complexity and structure of the wine.
The color is golden, the aromas are of extraordinary finesse: toasted brioche, hawthorn, lime blossom, when opened, aromas of citrus and spices, candied ginger are added. On the palate it is fine and elegant with a silky profile. Ripe and mineral, on the finish it presents honeyed and salty notes perfectly balanced between the chalky notes and the softness of the minimalist dosage.
The Blanc de Blancs 150th anniversary Pommery is a champagne of the highest level which also has high value for collectors; in fact, only 854 bottles are destined for the Italian market.
