The Drouet family is one of the most historic and important for the production of cognac, and the Drouet's Sauternes Casks Cognac is a one-of-a-kind distillate.
The vineyards are all located in Petite Champagne, the main area for the production of cognac, and after distillation the refinement takes place in oak barrels for 6 years.
What most characterizes Drouet's Cognac Petit Champagne Sauternes Casks is the subsequent maturation period, which takes place in ex sauternes barrels for approximately 15 months; this practice gives the cognac sweet notes of honey and saffron which clearly differentiate it.
