The grappa Oltre il Vallo Berta is a fine distillate that has the particularity of being aged in barrels ex Single Malt Scotch Whiskey.
This grappa has been produced since 2010 thanks to the encounter between the passion of the Berta family with Diageo Italia, world leather in the alcoholic drinks sector with its mastery for the best Scottish tradition.
The name Oltre il Vallo recalls that no one has ever managed to cross the ancient fortifications of Hadrian, that wall that represented the northernmost border of the Roman Empire in Britain for most of the period of Roman dominion over these lands. A fortification that divided the island into two parts. No one has ever been able to go beyond this border, until now, when Highlands and Monferrato unite symbolically in this aged distillate.
The barrels used for the aging of this grappa are carefully selected from the finest Scottish distilleries: Lagavulin, Caol Ila and Mortlach, important names that have made and make the history of the best Scottish whiskey.
The aged grappa Oltre il Vallo, reveals itself in the glass with its amber color, the nose is perceived a riot of aromas, from raisins and marc, to dried fruit and almond, and then ends with light hints of smoke, peat and malt .
In the mouth it is silky, soft and enveloping, reconfirming the olfactory aromas, complemented by notes of orange, hazelnuts, tobacco and honey, with a sweetly persistent finish.
