Rosso Pavia "Barbacarlo" 2020 75 cl Lino Maga
Maga LinoLino Maga is one of the winemakers par excellence, one of the first to strongly believe in quality viticulture in a period, the 1960s, and in an area, Oltrepò Pavese, where industry took over; in the end he was right and today his wines have the fame they deserve.
Barbacarlo is produced with grapes that come from the vineyard of the same name in which the Croatina, Uva Rara and Vespolina varieties are grown. The soil is tufa with south-west exposure, which allows it to receive the sun all day. The vines are worked by hand and no herbicides or chemicals of any kind are used.
Once a meticulous manual harvest has been carried out, the grapes are pressed and left to ferment 7-8 days in old oak barrels. Subsequently, periodic decanting is carried out for natural decanting. In April-May, the Barbacarlo is bottled and left in the cellar for about 40 days horizontally and 4 months vertically.
Barbacarlo Lino Maga is a completely natural and unprocessed wine, for this reason it has the "bottom", it is advisable not to shake the bottle before opening it. Store the bottle vertically.
The aging potential can reach 20 years.
Barbacarlo is a unique wine, each vintage is different from the others as nature leaves its mark giving it a unique charisma; there is only one common thread, it will always be an emotion to drink a Lino Maga wine.
On the label, Lino Maga, for the combination, recommends that there be two: "the bottle and the drinker".
