That of De Bartoli is the Marsala par excellence, the reference point for the typology.
The Marsala Superiore Oro Riserva 2004 Marco De Bartoli is a semi-dry Marsala, it is produced in the traditional way, adding to the wine a mixture of fresh must and brandy obtained from the same grape used for the base wine, the Grillo.
Fermentation takes place in chestnut barrels with indigenous yeasts; the base wine thus obtained is fortified, with fresh must enriched with brandy, for the preparation of the mistella. The refinement continues for 10 years in oak barrels.
This Marsala De Bartoli is a sweet wine, not too sweet, which goes very well with blue cheeses, mustard and jam.
