This extraordinary red wine is the result of a millenary tradition that handed down and reflects the identity of the territory.
The harvest is carried out in conditions of perfect ripeness during the months of September and October.
San Leonardo is a red wine created from a skilful blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Carmenère, 10% Merlot grapes, from vines with an age ranging from 20 to 50 years.
The grapes are vinified separately in cement, followed by an aging of 24 months in first, second and third passage French oak barriques. Before bottling, the cut is made and the exact proportions are decided only after a very strict tasting barrique by barrique, and then combined 18 months in the bottle, creating a harmonious, intense, unique wine!
San Leonardo Tenuta San Leonardo has an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. The olfactory notes express balsamic sensations of small berries, chocolate, tobacco, pepper, enriched by elegant nuances of pepper.
The taste is full, warm, of great roundness and with an extremely long intense aromatic persistence.
An important and intense wine to combine with game dishes, roast duck, aged cow's milk cheeses, lamb, snails, vanilla or cheese soufflé, truffle and dark chocolate.
San Leonardo wine has an aging potential that exceeds 30 years.
