The "Number 1" from the Valtellinese winery Plozza is a memorable red wine, a modern interpretation of Sforzato di Valtellina and a splendid example of drying from Nebbiolo grapes.
Fragrant and persuasive, it is produced from the privileged grapes best exposed to the sun and with a minimum of sixty years which, after the manual harvest, are left to dry for 3 months, followed by vinification, 3 days of cold maceration, 12 days on peels and finally spends its maturation in French oak barriques for 24 months.
The Terrazze Retiche di Sondrio IGT "Numero 1" Plozza is a bewitching, fine and complex wine, an elegant nectar, with the sweet aromas of plum, cloves, a pinch of pepper, it has ethereal and balsamic nuances that make their way between floral notes of violet, followed by tertiary hints of licorice, cloves, cinnamon and woody scents. On the palate it is intriguing and seductive from the first sip, with elegant tannins.
A juicy and deep wine from Valtellina, the "Numero 1" Plozza is ideal for accompanying large red meats such as saddle of venison.
