Primitivo "Maccone" 2024 75 cl Angiuli
Angiuli DonatoThe 2024 Angiuli "Maccone" Primitivo is an intense, distinctive red wine that pays homage, even in its dialectal name, to the unforgettable first cellar master of the historic Apulian winery, Donato Angiuli, custodian of a winemaking tradition rooted in the Bari area.
Made from 100% Primitivo grapes, it comes from approximately 60-year-old bush-trained vines, grown with full respect for the environment on clay soils. This precious viticultural heritage gives the wine concentration, depth, and authenticity.
The manual harvest, carried out between mid-September and October, selects only the grapes that have reached perfect ripeness. After gentle pressing, the must ferments at a controlled temperature with maceration on the skins for approximately 10 days. This is followed by aging, first in stainless steel and then in bottle for 6 months, preserving the freshness and varietal integrity.
In the glass, Maccone Primitivo 2024 displays an intense ruby red color, tinged with violet. The bouquet is rich and enveloping, dominated by notes of plum, prune, and black cherry, a prelude to a full-bodied and harmonious palate, supported by soft, well-integrated tannins.
An authentic and satisfying Primitivo, ideal paired with rich first courses, aged cheeses, and lamb, perfectly expressing the sunny character of its homeland.
