Chateau Lynch Bages 5eme Cru Classe 2018 75 cl
Chateau Lynch BagesIn a Bordeaux where the prices of the most famous chateaus have now reached unreasonable figures, Lynch Bages is still a fairly accessible wine and the level is still very high.
Chateau Lynch Bages is a 5eme cru for the 1855 classification but is destined to climb positions in the coming years, given the continuity with which year after year it is always confirmed among the best Pauillacs.
The assembly in the 2018 vintage was 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, which ages 18 months in barrique.
Lynch Bages is an amazing wine, with extreme evolutionary potential but, due to increasingly warmer vintages, it is immediately approachable. Ripe fruit, blackberry and plum, with spicy hints of nutmeg and incense emerge on the nose and precede a sip with scratchy but refined tannins, with an almost infinite aromatic persistence.
