Abyss Brut Zero from Leclerc Briant is an elegant, mineral, clean and creamy AOC champagne, which is produced from an assembly of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, aged 30 months in the cellar and 12 months in the ocean floor. Rich and intense, this Abyss is a riot of floral and spicy aromas that recur on the palate accompanied by citrus and dried fruit notes, with a harmonious and delicate perlage.

Abyss 2015, spends 30 months on the lees in the cellar and placed in very limited quantities on the pristine seabed of the Stiff bay, the eastern end of the Isle of Ouessant which lies off the coast of Brittany, to age another 12 months before disgorging.

The visual examination of Abyss champagne is a splendid straw yellow with golden reflections and hints of silver. A lively sequence of bubbles dance towards each other to create a very pleasant crown on the surface. Overall the champagne is rich and intense while maintaining extraordinary freshness.

The first impression on the nose is mineral with slightly iodized and chalky notes that meet the fruity aromas of peach, apple and rhubarb as well as the vegetable aromas of verbena, chamomile and jasmine tea. The scents that are released then reveal notes of lime, licorice, citrus, almond and rose.

In the mouth it is clean and fresh with a delicate and creamy perlage. Once tasted, you can feel the fullness and roundness, masterfully calibrated by the acidity. The exceptional minerality, deriving from the terroir of origin, embraces the fruity notes, teasing the palate.
