"Marenca" is a small 2-hectare cru in the municipality of Serralunga d’Alba, owned by Luigi Pira.
The vines used for Barolo Marenca were replanted in 1990 and give life to a long-lived and powerful Barolo. A short maceration precedes an aging of 24 months in barrels of different sizes.
The aromas of Barolo Marenca Luigi Pira are delicate, with floral and red fruit scents that turn to spicy notes of nutmeg and cinnamon. On the palate it is taut, with dense tannins and a long savory finish that also recalls mineral and almost ferrous notes.
