Etna Rosso "Calderara Sottana" 2020 75 cl Tenuta delle Terre Nere
Tenuta delle Terre NereEtna Rosso Calderara Sottana Tenuta delle Terre Nere is a wine that comes from volcanic soils, and the most stony of the Etna crus.
Among the various Etna crus, Calderara Sottana is the most complete one, which gives wide and deep wines, able to excite even after 20 or 30 years.
The vineyards of Nerello are very old, reaching even 100 years, and the bunches are few but of exceptional quality. The vines are grown on pure volcanic soils of the Elliptic (approximately between 60,000 and 15,000 years ago), not contaminated by alluvial soils or sediments, as are some of the other districts. This Terroir of the Elliptic, although young in geological terms, is the oldest soil on which it can be cultivated.
The red wine Calderara Sottana Terre Nere on the nose reveals floral and fruity scents followed by mineral, resinous and almost iodized notes; rich also on the palate, with a unique balance and a very long persistence.
