Vega Sicilia Unico 2013 75 cl
Vega SiciliaVega Sicilia Unico is the wine that relaunched Spanish oenology.
This wonderful red wine is produced in Ribera del Duero with Tempranillo grapes, to which a small balance of Cabernet Sauvignon is added.
The vinification takes place in oak vats and the refinement is carried out in large 225 liter French and American oak barrels for a very long period, the longest refinement in the world, 10 years between barrel and bottle.
This incredible terroir and unique aging process make Vega Sicilia's "Unico" a timeless wine with aging.
The 2013 vintage is subtle, elegant, fresh, vertical, complex, silky and well defined. The nose is wonderful, with a depth and cleanliness of aromas worthy of the best wines in the world; the sip is warm, enveloping and with great structure.
Pleasant to drink now, but timeless if left to refine in the bottle. It's almost a shame to pair this "Unique" Vega Sicilia with something, it's a wine that should be drunk alone to contemplate its greatness.
