Sassella Valtellina Superiore "Sommarovina" 2020 75 cl Mamete Prevostini
Mamete PrevostiniSassella Valtellina Superiore "Sommarovina" is a red wine signed by Mamete Prevostini, which comes from Nebbiolo grapes grown in Triasso, in the Sassella DOCG.
Sommarovina Mamete Prevostini is an elegant Valtellinese red wine made from Nebbiolo grapes.
This Valtellina Superiore Sassella comes from the terraced vineyards of the Rhaetian Alps facing south, about 400 meters above sea level, on soils composed mainly of flaked rock and located in the town of Triasso, in the heart of the Sassella DOCG area.
After the harvest in mid-October, and delicate destemming, the Nebbiolo grapes are placed to ferment in stainless steel tanks at 25°C. After pressing, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in oak barrels where refinement continues for approximately 10 months. Finally, the wine is aged in the bottle for another 10 months before being released on the market.
Sassella Sommarovina Mamete Prevostini is an intense ruby red wine tending towards garnet. The scent is fresh with hints of red fruits, hibiscus and rose supported by an intense balsamic and spicy sensation. In the mouth it is warm, persistent and elegant with a pleasant finish of liquorice and almond, confirming it as a wine with character, austere and compact.
