Solaia is one of the most famous wines in the world, the flagship product of the Antinori family.
It was born in the heart of classic Chianti, from the vineyard of the same name which is located on the best hill of Tenuta Tignanello and is made up of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Franc. The refinement in new French oak barrels lasted 18 months, first each variety separated and then assembled.
Solaia 2020 saw an ideal climate that started with a mild winter, followed by a spring that favored early budding of the vine. The summer was not excessively hot and the rains ensured optimal ripening of the grapes. The harvest began at the end of September, with perfectly ripe bunches.
Solaia Antinori 2020 is a ruby red with intense and complex aromas ranging from small berries to the sweetness of plum, cherry blended with mint, myrtle, liquorice, cocoa and dried fruit. On the palate it is rich and enveloping, an elegant wine with silky tannins and a long and persistent finish.
