Chateau Guiraud is one of the few 1er cru classè in Sauternais; this area is the home of botrytized wines, thanks to particular microclimatic conditions the Semillon clusters are attacked by noble rot which dehydrates the grape and concentrates the aromatic substances.

The Chateau Guiraud is aged for about 18 months in mainly new barrels.

A sweet and very full-bodied wine but it maintains a great savory and fresh boost; Chateau Guiraud is very elegant and soft, of great purity and aromatic finesse, a great sauternes perfect to combine with blue cheeses and especially with foie gras.
