Kerner "Praepositus" 2021 75 cl Abbazia di Novacella
Abbazia di NovacellaKerner Praepositus is an elegant, fresh and easy-drinking white wine, made from 100% Kerner grapes, and is rich in fruity aromas. A versatile wine that pairs well with fish dishes, goose liver and roast duck.
The Kerner of the Praepositus line is a prestigious, aromatic and fruity wine that is produced in Alto Adige, in Novacella, at the Novacella Abbey.
The ecclesiastical term Praepositus was given to the hierarchically "superior" monks within the convent, which in the wine context was used to indicate the superiority of this circle of wines from the Novacella Abbey.
Kerner Praepositus is produced from 100% native Kerner grapes that grow in Novacella and Rasa, on soils rich in morainic and mineral deposits which, with the cool climate and south-southwest exposure, favor the optimal ripening of the grapes .
Fermentation and maturation take place in stainless steel tanks in which they remain for 6 months, after which the wine is bottled to complete its maturation for a further month, putting it on the market with a potential for further maturation of 6 years.
This splendid Kerner Praepositus is pale yellow in color with greenish reflections and reveals a particularly fruity bouquet to the nose with notes of ripe peach, dried apricot, orange peel, ginger and elderflower. In the mouth it is juicy and powerful, without losing the delicate sweet and fruity notes that accompany the finish.
