Sicilia Menfi DOC "Cometa" by Planeta is a white wine produced with 100% Fiano grapes. A splendid wine capable of competing with the great whites of the world.
Fiano is in fact a noble and ancient variety of Campania origin. "Cometa" best expresses, in an original and unique way, the characteristics of this extraordinary vine.
Cometa Planeta ferments 90% in steel and 10% in 225 liter barriques. After a period of refinement on the fine lees it is assembled and prepared for bottling.
Intense and fruity aromas, its great structure and minerality make it today one of the reference white wines of Southern Italy.
On the nose, Cometa Planeta releases floral scents, delicate notes of chamomile, thyme, hay and mandarin. On the palate it is mineral with traces of vibrant flavor that shake and quench thirst. Harmonious wine, an invitation to sip calmly while fully enjoying every nuance. The finish is silky with a very refined aftertaste of ripe apricots and basil.
Suitable for bold combinations such as grilled red snapper.
Planeta's Cometa is a wine ready to drink immediately, and can reach 15 years of aging, offering great surprises in the future too.
