Lunga Attesa "Carapace" Sagrantino Montefalco 2015 75 cl Tenuta Castelbuono
Tenuta CastelbuonoThe Carapace Lunga Attesa is a single bottle, the maximum expression of a grape, Sagrantino di Montefalco, which is often difficult to interpret and gives wines that are too grumpy; this is not the case, on the contrary, we are talking about a bottle which is the sublimation of this grape.
The vinification takes place in 3 different ways: one part ferments in steel, one in wood and one in terracotta amphorae; after the assembly of the three masses, the wine rests for 7 years between large barrels and bottle.
The Sagrantino di Montefalco Carapace Lunga Attesa Tenuta Castelbuono releases fruity notes to the nose, with a blackberry and cherry jam, while in the background you can perceive a part of spices and licorice. On the palate it manages to be silky and elegant, despite a very dense tannic texture, and the persistence is memorable.
