Castello Fonterutoli is the most representative of the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione produced by Mazzei; in this case the reference vineyards are located in Castellina in Chianti and are the best plots surrounding the Castle which gives the wine its name.

Composed mostly of Sangiovese grapes, with the addition of small company selections; the fermentation takes place in steel tanks and is followed by an 18-month aging in large oak barrels.

The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castello Fonterutoli Mazzei is a full-bodied Sangiovese wine, with a rich and complex nose and a warm and persuasive sip, capable of aging splendidly over the years.
