Bolgheri Rosso Superiore "Piastraia" 2020 75 cl Michele Satta

The Piattiia is one of Michele Satta's most emblematic wines, a Bordeaux blend to which Syrah and Sangiovese are added, a beautiful expression of the Bolgheri terroir.

The harvest begins in early September with the Merlot, followed by the Sauvignon, Syrah and Sangiovese until the first week of October with the Cabernet Sauvignon. All the grapes are vinified separately in 30hl truncated vats and, after blending, the aging in barrique lasts about 2 years.

Piattiia Michele Satta is a powerful and austere wine, which enjoys a myriad of facets thanks to the different grapes used; Merlot and Cabernet give the most balsamic and soft notes, smoothing out the acidity and tannin of the Sangiovese, while Syrah gives the wine spicy notes and a vibrant sapidity, which emerges on the finish and gives length to the sip.
