Franchetti is one of the first companies to believe in zoning on Etna and vinifies all its vineyards individually, in the wake of what happens in Burgundy with the different Crus.

The Terre Siciliane Contrada S wine by Franchetti is produced with grapes coming from the Sciaranuova district, which is located at around 850 meters above sea level and the name indicates that it was formed from a relatively recent flow, dating back to 200 years ago.

The Contrada S Franchetti wine is among the fullest and most powerful expressions of Nerello Mascalese, with notes of ripe fruit and spices on the nose and a structured sip, with dense tannins, which extends into the palate and remains for several seconds even after swallowing.
