Tignanello Antinori is a red wine with extraordinary qualities, one of the first Super Tuscans in history.

Tignanello is made from Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Its grapes come from the 57 hectare Tignanello vineyard with south-west exposure.

The 2016 vintage was characterized by a mild and little rainy winter, spring provided favorable weather throughout the Chianti Classico, a climate which saw bud break 10 days earlier than the historical average. Subsequent rains with a hot and dry summer but never too hot. The atmospheric events in balance with the vine gave splendid fruit with perfect maturation.

The harvest of Tignanello Antinori began towards the end of September, with very careful selection and treatment of the grapes, the must is fermented and then subjected to malolactic fermentation in barriques to preserve and enhance all its aromas and elegance of tannins. Aging takes place in French and Hungarian oak barrels for 14-16 months and the following 12 months in the bottle.

Tignanello 2016 Antinori is a red wine that fully reflects the vintage. Its aromas highlight notes of ripe red fruit and berries perfectly blended with hints of vanilla, bitter chocolate and delicate spices. In the mouth it is vibrant, with silky and elegant tannins. The finish is long, complex, intense and persistent.

This bottle is part of the Antinori reserve, it was put on the market and came to us directly from Tenuta Tignanello in 2023.
