Pinot noir Monticol Riserva, or better known as "Montigl", is a noble red wine from the Terlano winery.
Its grapes grow in vineyards cultivated at medium-high heights between 500 - 600 m above sea level with southern exposure. In this area of South Tyrol, the descending air currents cool the temperature even in the height of summer and give the grapes perfect ripeness.
The vines of Pinot Noir Monticol have very ancient origins that date back to the mid-19th century, especially the older vineyards, stand on volcanic soils that give Pinot Noir structure and elegance.
After the harvest, which is done by hand, the fermentation on the skins takes place in steel and finally the refinement that lasts 12 months and takes place inside large barrels and barriques.
The Monticol Riserva has a bright garnet color, the scent rich in facets, offering not only fruity aromas of blackberries and berries, but also delicate notes of spices and tan.
In the mouth it is pleasantly balanced and with a marked mineral elegance, persuasive and satisfying.
